Although the danish affiliate competition is over I decided to keep tracking the statistics of my latest site and share it all with you here. It’s about time to reveal  the traffic and commissions for last month.

What did I get done in april? 

I managed to write a single article about Market Samurais new rank tracker service … wow! Not much new content I know. I did also manage to write a pre landing page for market samurai. Instead of sending my links on my site to market samurai directly, I now send them to a special page I created that explains what market samurai is, and that visitors should download the free trial before they buy, so they get it at the discounted price. I’ve seen the conversion ratio increase but the traffic decrease which is overall pretty good No new market samurai sales though which I find a little odd.

Traffic is still increasing, but I think it will start to even out for the next few weeks unless I start adding some new content and build more links to increase my rankings and get new rankings.

As you can see the traffic continues to steadily increase. Pages per visit and average visit duration also increasing. Looks like the bounce rate is stabilizing around 51% but I would love to figure out how to lower this even more.

Not much change in the traffic sources ratios from last month. Still a small increase in organic traffic which again is nice to see.

Affiliate Commissions for April 2012

This has been the best month so far when it comes to affiliate commissions. Seems the danish web hosting product is doing pretty good. Still no new sales from Market Samurai but you can see below how the statistics have improved a little during last month:
I made 5 sales of the web hosting offers which accrued a total of $485. I did however have a huge sale for $300 so that obviously helped a lot

There has been a lot of talk about Google’s updates lately but it seems as if my site hasn’t been affected at all. Well actually it has, but only for the better as I have continued to increase in my rankings and actually been ranked 1st on Google.dk twice last month but still fighting to stay up there

So here we are again … April fools day and I’ve just had a look at my Commissions Junction and Google Analytics accounts to see the status for last month.

The competition is actually already over! One of the guys hit the 5.000 kr. mark (just under $900) in april 2012 only 100 days after he bought the domain name. This is really impressive!! Dennis built an affiliate site around designer clothes for women and it just exploded! So congratulations to Dennis for winning the danish niche site duel!

I will probably keep reporting on my website which I am quite happy with. As you know I’m building an affiliate site where the main topic is creating your own website using wordpress. I’m a huge fan of wordpress and have used it to built countless websites. The site I’m building is a danish “build your own website” video training site and you can see it here: byg egen hjemmeside

What did I get done last month

Alarmingly very little! I managed to write 1 article even though I had set my goal for at least 1 article a week. Ok I’ve been very busy with my game design work here in Indonesia, and we spent the most of last month in Bandung on Java. But still it’s just an excuse as I could easily have written more articles.

Despite the fact that I only got 1 article done, my affiliate commissions are still growing which is really nice. The total commissions grew with 50% since last month.

Oh yeah, for reasons unknown Adsense decided to close my account. I thought I was well within their terms, but apparently they did not. Bye bye commissions and bye bye Adsense. I managed to build about 10 Adsense sites, but I’m going to drop that from my arsenal now. Maybe one day I’ll see if I can reopen or create a new account, but for now I won’t be bothered.

Traffic Statistics for March 2012

Overall it’s been a very good month for my website, especially considering I only added one new article. Traffic and sales are both up this month compared to last month.

As you have see the site had a total of 716 visits compared to 477 visits in February. That’s actually a 50% increase which is really nice. It also got 634 unique visitors compared to 379 in February which is almost an 80% increase!

You can see how my organic traffic keeps growing which is great! My referral traffic has dropped a bit and I think it’s still due to the fact that I am not ranked in the top 3 in the overall rankings for the competition. That’s okay, because my main efforts have been set towards the organic results.

Affiliate Commissions for March 2012

I have made 3 sales this month which accrued $146 in commissions. They all came from the danish webhosting company that I am referring to in my videos and articles. I did get new downloads for Market Samurai but no new sales this month which was a little disappointing. I think I’ll try and focus a bit more on converting Market Samurai free trials the next month.

I Am Ranked 2nd on Google.dk

All in all I am very happy with this months results. It should be a huge motivator for me to get more done on the site especially now that I have moved up to the second place in Google.dk for my main keyword! Let’s see if I can reach first place during the next 30 days!

It’s that time of the month again! Wow time goes by so quickly! I have now been living in Indonesia for 1 month and it’s been absolutely fantastic! I love the place and the people that I am working with – it’s just awesome! We have been very busy here designing our new edutainment game, so that has once again left me with little to no time for updating my website lav din egen hjemmeside. Well it’s really just another bad excuse because we’ve had so much fun here and been working a lot too of course.

None the less, it’s been a postitive month with traffic and sales increases. Not a great deal but considering the fact that I haven’t added a single article or video to the site during February 2012, I’m quite pleased.

Let’s have a look at some numbers for February 2012:

Overall it seems that the stats are worse then last months update. Yes the numbers have dropped overall and the bounce rate is a little higher as well. This is really kind of expected as I am no longer listed as number 1 in the contest, so I have a lot less traffic from the competition website. That’s totally cool as you will see on the next image I have managed to increase my organic traffic!

As you can see, the organic traffic has increased from 185 to 295 visits and that is with 2 days less in February compared to January. The referral traffic dropped from 323 to 101 which also reflects the fall from first place

Once again since I haven’t added ANY content what so ever I am quite pleased with the traffic. I also managed to break into Googles first page with two of my keywords. It took a long tome but I’m currently in 8th place with my main keyword. I will really try and get some new great content on the site to rank for more keywords and push up towards the top 3 in Google.

Let’s look at the earnings in February 2012:

I decided to add Adsense to my site in order to see if it would create any decent revenue. I will keep it on the site for at least 2 more months but I am not sure whether it’s good or bad  at the moment. I had a few affiliate sales for the danish webhosting company and I am very pleased with that.

Not sure where I will be ranked in the competition after February but I will come back and update this post once all the numbers are in.

So January month of 2012 is now over and in this month I only managed to add a couple of articles and 2 new videos to the website lav din egen hjemmeside which I am competing with in the Danish Adsense/affiliate marketing competition.

I wanted to add a lot more content in January, but due to recent events that had me focus on other important aspects of my life, I couldn’t really find the time for it. Sure it may sound as a bad excuse (and maybe it is) but I was given the opportunity to leave my job for 6 months and travel to Bali where I would work with like minded entrepreneurs on a gamification project. I was leaving for Bali on february 2nd 2012 so I had a lot of projects and tasks from work which I had to make sure were handed over properly to my team.

RICK ROLL’D!!!

I have been living in the Bali Power House for one week now and time has really gone by fast! the experience so far has been almost overwhelming. The synergy and atmosphere in the Power House is like nothing I have experienced before! The people here are really cool and we have fun all the time!

We eat healthy food prepared by our chef Tiwi, our rooms and the villas are kept nice and clean due to Ayu who is our housekeeper. Everyone here at Power House loves what they do and it just creates a synergy that is extremely hard to match.

Today we had one of our unique CrossFit sessions … or I guess we should call it PoolCross as we always workout around the pool. We all select an exercise and each exercise is performed in 1 minute and 30 seconds. We usually do two rounds of this which makes it a total of 20-25 minute workout. My goal is to push in a third round, but so far there have been no takers We filmed the event today and I just wanted to show you guys back home how we work out at the Power House in Bali.

Michael and I met up in Copenhagen airport and started our long journey to Bali. The flight took about 22 hours in total and we landed in Doha and Singapore on our way to Bali. We had a short stop at a nice bar/restaurant on our way from the airport to the villas. Satey and Bintang  - what a great start

When we arrived at the villas, Michael showed me around and I got to meet most of the other residents here. A really nice group of people! I could tell right away that we would get along easily.

I keep getting distracted by huge lizards swimming in the river below the terrasse where I am sitting … I guess I’ll get used to that soon enough

It’s my fourth day here and I’m loving it! We have already talked a lot about our project and had a really great short workshop. The game we are working on is going to be loads of fun creating and playing. Coline and Jeff who have been here since mid december are really talented and excited about game development. More about the game we are developing in a later post…

There are quite a number of Danes here and last night we went out with a couple that had just moved here. We started out at their new villa with a housewarming party and then moved on to a place in Kuta called the Sky Garden. This was a huge disco with 4 or 5 floors (can’t really remember hehe), where they played different music for each floor. It was great fun and the show girls at Sky Garden surely know how to put on a show

I’m a little hung over and my ears are still ringing from the LOUD music last night. I think I’ll take a quick dip in the pool and then find a nice spot where I can relax and prepare for our first all day workshop tomorrow.

Here I am … lying in my brothers couch writing this post. I can’t stay in my own appartment, as I have rented it out to my cousin. It’s late at night and I’ve just finished packing … I’m leaving tomorrow morning for Bali!

It’s only been a little over one month since I sent in my video application to Michael Bodekær from ProjectGetAway and since then it’s been an extremely hectic few weeks for me as I’ve had to sell my car, rent out my flat, get leave from my job and a ton of other minor things that I needed to get in order.

If you’ve been following me on this blog, then you know I love to spend time working on my Internet Marketing projects. I really love to market online as it eventually gives me the opportunity to work full time as an entrepreneur. I’ve know for many years that I eventually want to give it a shot as an entrepreneur full time.

When I learned that the team from ProjectGetAway were looking for a founder apprentice I just knew I had to send in a video and apply for the position. They actually had a few positions that I was interested in and knew I could do well, so I created an all round video and sent it in and crossed my fingers.

A few days later, I was sitting in a cafe in Copenhagen with Michael and we had a great talk about the various projects they were running and one project in particular which really caught my attention! Michael wants to create a computer game that teach people how to get started as an entrepreneur and spreads awareness about entrepreneurship. I was hooked! You might remember that I created LifestyleNetworker a few years ago which was going to be an Internet Marketing Management Game so I had a lot of experience from that project and I also have a passion for creating e-learning systems. I was excited and so was Michael!

So here we are a few weeks later getting ready to leave for Bali tomorrow. You see Michael has setup a couple of “Power Houses” on Bali, which essentially are luxury villas where he gathers his teams of talented entrepreneurs where they live and work together on exciting projects. This is also what we will be doing with the entrepreneur game project. We will start on Bali, but the plan is to move to Bandung on Java and find a villa there where we can build a rock star team.

It’s the first day of the new year, and I’ve been looking over my stats for the danish website called Lav Din Egen Hjemmeside which is going to be a complete video guide on how you can setup your own WordPress website. A niche like this would be pretty damn hard to compete in on Google.com but on the danish market it’s a little easier.

I found a neat WordPress theme and think I’ve found a pretty cool color scheme for the site. I’ve written about 10 articles and created 3 videos.

I recently joined up with a couple of guys from the entrepreneur forum called Amino.dk here in Denmark, and they have started a competition to see who is the first to reach an income of 5.000 kr (about $900) in a whole month. I thought it sounded like a cool competition and a great chance for me to try my luck on the danish market.

So I joined with a new site http://LavDinEgenHjemmeside.dk which I registered on December 19th 2011. Some of the other guys had started a few weeks earlier, but for me it was mostly a matter of learning from my danish entrepreneur friends and not mainly winning the contest.
